Snowflake Costume Design

Make a Snowflake Doll for your child patterned after our little snowflake man.

I have been unable to locate a manufactured snowflake costume so I have created a draft snowflake/star costume design for daring souls who sew to use as a rough guide in creating their own snowflake costumes.

This idea is NOT tested and may not work at all, so I suggest you first locate a sewing pattern for something like pajamas with feet or another type of full body wear pattern to use as a guide.

Also it might be a good idea to find an existing star shaped pillow pattern, if possible, so you can learn how to create a padded item.

At this point material and instructions are estimated. You could use anything from sheets of white easel pad paper to cloth or foam sheets.

Whatever material you use please make sure it is fire retardent and easily removed.

Materials:

Self adhesive Velcro could be used in place of zipper and buttons

You could also just eliminate the leg and flap portions of the costume to make the costume a simple pullover.

Also, instead of making a costume for a child you might alter the patter to make a doll or doll costume

Instructions:

Use the snowflake costume front and snowflake costume back pics as guides and redraw the pattern onto very large reusable paper such as easel pad paper or large tissue paper.

Use your large sketched patterns to cut the snowflake shapes (front anf back) out of foam and also to cut the fabric to match shape (it should be a little larger than the foam cut out.)

As you can see, the instructions are sketchy, and that's because Snowflake does not sew well.

Good Luck!
